Every Guys a John....

I've never been a fan of dating. I'd rather walk naked through Times Square than sit through an awkward meal with a stranger. That being said, I also see dating as a socially acceptable form of prostitution. There's no difference between having someone buy you a few meals in order to get you into bed than having someone leave some money on your dresser. I love when women say stuff like "Oh he took me to a really nice restaurant" or "He got me a gorgeous necklace" to justify sleeping with someone. Sleep with someone because you want to, not because you feel like you have to work off a nice meal. Men are always paying for sex...fancy dinners, flowers, jewelry, etc. Women are fine with accepting all of this yet if a guy was to offer her money for sex, she'd slap him....

GooGoo for Gaga

January 20th was a date I had been looking forward to for awhile. It was circled in red on my calendar, surrounded by stars, etc. What could warrant such anticipation you ask? I had scored tickets for the one and only Lady Gaga at Radio City!!! Unfortunately, the Ticketmaster gods were not on my side (and they should've been-I'm sure I put their kids through college) and I had to get the tickets via StubHub at an obscene markup. My Ticketmaster conspiracy theory is another blog for another day. Anyway, the day of the concert finally arrived and I was like a kid in a candy store. People have many opinions about my Gaga--"she's a tranny", "she's got a dick", "she's trying to be Madonna"....but no one could rain on my parade. Say what you want about her, but she has breathed life into music again. Underneath the over-the-top outfits and shock art is an actually talented performer. I challenge anyone who says she's not talented to see her live. Her show was nothing short of amazing. Her voice was the star of the show despite the flashy costumes and sets. In the words of Dawn "her voice was impeccable". I'm very hard to impress when it comes to hearing people live and she blew me away. Although she resembled Madonna physically at certain points and sounded like her when she spoke, there is one thing that clearly separates the two---raw talent. I can hear Madonna fans cyber bitch-slapping me right now but I stand by my assessment.
And by the way, I am completely obsessed with her orbit...I want to travel around in one.
